Vice President of Operations - Electrical Build to Order

Charleston, West Virginia – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a manufacturing client going through a major expansion.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a VP of Operations.

What you will do: This will be an executive leadership role that will report to the CEO with dotted lines to the VP’s within the organization.  This role is both operational and strategic/tactical.  This is a build to order environment working with fabricated compoments, structural assemblies, electrical harnesses and on-site manufacturing.  This position will have full operational control including manufacturing/assembly processes focused on machine processes, material handling and labor utilization being maximized through lean principles and automation. This position is also responsible for planning and  supply chain.   This position will have budgetary and operational forecast responsibility with the focus on expansion through additional head count, technology acquisitions, capital expenditures and equipment maintenance maximization. This role will develop and report key performance metrics to measure all aspects of operational performance.  The Director of Operations will also focus on improving loading accuracy, on-time deliveries and orders shipped short. Drive the newly implemented customer complaint and corrective action process based upon current and future growth, material and work-flow, and new equipment acquisitions.

What you will need: Current quantifiable experience at an operations executive level within a build to order manufacturing environment.  Experience with lean manufacturing, operations excellence.  Budgetary responsibility over a manufacturing facility with 15-40M/yr in revenue.
