Tooling Engineer - Plastics

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Tooling Engineer – Plastics.

What you will do: The Tooling Engineer – Plastics specifies, procures, and installs new injection molding equipment for North American sites. The role maintains the injection molding equipment specification for North America while working with counterparts in Germany. The position maintains the injection molding equipment capacity utilizations, assists with setting up the injection mold processes for new tools, and assists with the implementation of new injection mold tools. Additionally, the Tooling Engineer – Plastics travels up to 25% to equipment suppliers and manufacturing locations within the United States and Mexico.

What you will need: Bachelors Degree in Engineering. Current experience working with and procuring injection molding equipment. Experience in the automotive industry. Experience setting up new and optimizing injection mold processes. Experience working with, procuring, debugging and implementing injection molding tooling. Unigraphics experience. Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and equipment design. Previous experience with equipment design, development and implementation, including Safety Risk Assessment. Familiar with Robot and motion control programming.
