Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a national supplier of automotive tier one manufactured goods. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Tooling Engineer.
What you will do: The Tooling Engineer develops new tooling methods, builds innovative tools, revamping tooling standards, and researches new suppliers and tooling concepts as well as project scheduling. The role evaluates stamping tool processes by designing and conducting research programs, develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, and researches, designs, modifies, and tests manufacturing methods and equipment, conferring with equipment vendors. The position improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, equipment requirements and equipment layout, assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, and provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs. Additionally, the Tooling Engineer prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations, and keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
What you will need: BS in Mechanical Engineering. Current experience as a tooling engineer. Experience in stamping tooling design and manufacturing. Experience as a machinist or supervisor within stamping tool room environment is a plus. Experience with seating.
