Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com  is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Tooling Engineer – Mold Design.

What you will do: The Tooling Engineer provides estimate tooling prices for use in offers to customers and internal studies. The position works with product engineers for suitability of tooling design with the process concept, including production fixtures an assembly tools, determines tool design, and creates/maintains equipment list for all tooling/capital (including gages), while also evaluating CAE modeling for mold flow and FEA analysis, etc. The role coordinates fabrication and prototype activity, including appropriate paperwork, is responsible for layouts/tests/reports on quality to customers, and performs process validation using prototypes (i.e. gating evaluation & its effect on GD&T.) Additionally, the Tooling Engineer – Mold Design ensures that standard equipment and tool specifications are met, coordinates the design/drawing for manufacturing of prototype and production tooling, and establishes the tools preventative maintenance schedule/program.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in tooling design. Experience in the automotive, tier-one industry. Basics of Plastic Injection Mold design. Working knowledge of CAD softwareCatia V and/or NX). Working knowledge of MoldFlow Simulation Software.
