Tooling Design Engineer – AutoCAD/Pro-E

Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client with headquarters in Atlanta. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Tooling Design Engineer

What you will do: The Tooling Design Engineer is responsible for new product development from concept through production, including sustaining engineering of existing products as a small function. The key functions of the position are to design electro-mechanical solutions and integration that meet the customers’ needs. From cradle to grave, this role processes design for production of new mechanical designs and documentation, while additionally, creating all 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs and product delivery documentation. The position, also, participates in pilot and pre-production runs at focus factories, leads engineering phases of production, works with patent console to insure IP protection, and ensures quality of electro-mechanical products.

What you will need: Bachelors of Science Mechanical Engineering plus intermediate applicable experience. Experience with Autodesk Inventor CAD part design, assembly and drawing creation. Working knowledge of engineering concepts and principles. Experience with electro-mechanical products. DFSS, FMEA, design for manufacturability, GD&T, tolerance stack analysis knowledge. Preferred process knowledge in casting, machining, sheet metal, injection molding, and PCB board assembly. . Knowledge of regulatory testing processes. Working knowledge of electronics . Technical Project Management Experience.
