Tier One Vehicle Dynamics Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier to the automotive manufacturing industry and due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer.

What you will do: The Vehicle Dynamics Engineer lead the effort for full vehicle dynamics modeling. The role identifies/maintains appropriate tools and/or interfaces for vehicle modeling and control (control is in Simulink), is the key customer liaison for communicating steering system issues related to vehicle handling, and works closely with customers and team to identify and refine requirements and constraints and make recommendations to address issues. The position identifies/conducts experiments methodically, analyzes data and interprets results, and prepares product reports and documentation.

What you will need: BSME. Current experience in vehicle dynamics and controls. Strong experience in automotive manufacturing. Experience modeling vehicle systems (tires, suspension, chassis, steering, etc.) for vehicle dynamics and handling analysis and control. Matlab/Simulink-based model and control development experience. Hands-on experience with CarSim, veDYNA, or other vehicle dynamics modeling and simulation tools. Knowledge in classical and modern control theory including nonlinear control and system identification techniques. Comprehensive understanding of steering contributions and limitations for vehicle handling and feel, demonstrable via simulation.
