Tier One Test Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a national supplier of the tier-one automotive industry. Due to recent growth, they have a newly created position for a Test Engineer.

What you will do: The Test Engineer coordinates and directs test projects to meet specific program objectives following the provided DVP&R and provides technical leadership and guidance in testing equipment, instrumentation and test procedures. The role provides assistance in developing new design and test criteria, prepares and updates laboratory work instructions, and provides specifications for test and fixture design. The position resolves test issues (test parts, support hardware, etc.), ensures the quality of measured data, provides written and verbal reporting of test results, and supports product engineering with root cause analysis. Additionally, the Test Engineer assists in determining program scope and direction, writes and updates laboratory test procedures, and communicates effectively with appropriate support functions.

What you need: BS in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in testing and data acquisition. Solid understanding of Suspension and Axle and Brake test systems and methods. Solid understanding of fatigue and fatigue analysis (Stress and Strain Life methods). Knowledge of dynamometers. Technical knowledge of transducers such as load, displacement and accelerometers. Familiarity with 6 Sigma tools such as Weibull analysis.
