Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working a tier one supplier of automotive systems and due to the company’s recent growth, they have opened a position for a Product Engineering Supervisor for their Structural Systems group.
What you will do: The Product Engineering Supervisor supervises the development and coordination of initial requirements for product design, approves design information and assumptions for cost estimating, manufacturing feasibility, and capital appropriation preparation, and supports customers by coordinating meetings and directing activities. The role approves the maintenance of design failure mode and effect analysis, approves the Prototype Plan and Design Validation Plan and Report to ensure product integrity, and ensures that manufacturing plants receive pertinent information. The position leads Product Innovation plan to meet annual objectives, implements design guidelines and best practices, and schedules/meets with customers to determine areas of product improvement by review and analysis in a team format. Additionally, Product Engineering Supervisor assesses, directs and follows up on the required training for Product Engineers I, II & III, estimates number of employees needed on projects, scheduling the work to meet completion dates and technical specifications; and administers direct supervisory responsibility for engineering personnel.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience in product engineering and supervisory experience. Experience with the engineering of plastic injection molded parts. Working knowledge of plastic exterior trim design requirements and manufacturing processes. Familiarity with General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler and other OEM engineering processes.
