Tier One Principal Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a world leader in the automotive industry. Our 100-year-old publicly traded client has engaged our services to help identify a Principal Engineer for their growing business.

What you will do: The Principal Engineer plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering assignments associated with the design and development of driveline products used in medium and heavy duty Linehaul truck applications as well as driveline products for Specialty, Off-Highway and Defense businesses. The role assures all projects adhere to the C2C and engineering procedures, conceptualizes, designs, and develops new product or product revisions in response to customer requirements, warranty issues, and/or value analysis efforts and performs engineering calculations necessary for the application of these components and systems. The position defines test programs, oversees engineering projects, provides and maintain project time tables, establishes testing requirements, determines and monitors project budgets and provides overall project direction and coordination, while also supporting manufacturing facilities by providing technical guidance. Additionally, the Principal Engineer interfaces with other functional areas to coordinate the development and release of new product or product revisions, ensures requested product revisions will not affect performance of the product, and identifies, verifies and implements solutions for warranty or quality claims.

What you will need: BS Engineering (BSME with MS preferred). Current experience in mechanical engineering. Design experience with driveline systems. Six-Sigma (DFSS) trained, Black Belt Certification desired. US citizenship or Green Card holders ONLY.
