Tier One Lead Engineer - Roof Systems

Plymouth, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international, tier-one automotive supplier and due to recent growth within their organization, they have opened a new role for a Lead Engineer.

What you will do: The Lead Engineer manages/guides the product engineers in regards to their program responsibilities. The role plans/conducts the engineering needs, acts as a liaison between other departments and customers, and leads/owns the process of preparing design deliverables with due consideration for applicable codes/standards. The position balances the engineering workload for the program team, leads design reviews and document open issues, and leads the development and maintenance of DFMEA’s/DVP&R’s, while also interpreting analysis/validation results to drive design direction. Additionally, the Lead Engineer leads root cause analysis teams in support of open issues, participates in cross-functional Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) meetings, and supports creation of design standards and work instructions.

What you will need: BS in Engineering. Current experience in fast paced engineering. Expert knowledge of Catia V5 or comparable CAD software. Experience in mechanism design (convertible top mechanism design a plus). Working knowledge of a Data Management System (SAP, Team Center, etc). Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and their impact on product design. Knowledge of the development and the program management processes and it’s impact to the product. Experience in disciplined approaches to problem solving (Red X, DFSS, etc).
