Tier One Lead Engineer – Instrument Panel

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier whose products are in 25% of all vehicles on the road.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Lead Engineer – Instrument Panels.

What you will do: The Lead Engineer – Instrument Panels is responsible for leading the activities of product engineering groups relating to the design and development of new products and improvement of existing products. The role provides engineering direction and support to design personnel, oversees and reviews design criteria and concepts of lower level engineers, and maintains engineering and program documentation, while also directing, monitoring and approving engineering and program documentation activities. The position coordinates/facilitates and documents benchmarking activities, develops program targets based on benchmarks for complex systems, conducts performance reviews, and assists in succession and career progression planning. Additionally, the Lead Engineer – Instrument Panels supports prototype manufacturing and build activities, assists in product development cost control, participates in continuous product improvements and innovation, and leads design coordination with Tier 2 suppliers.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in the tier-one automotive manufacturing environment. Experience with instrument panels and door systems. Experience with Chrysler systems. Experience in quality, testing and design. Experience with CAD software. Continuous improvement experience; six sigma certification is a plus. Ability to travel internationally up to 35%.
