Warren, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Feasibility Engineer.
What you will do: The Feasibility Engineer reviews customer product designs for “design for manufacturability” issues, as well as opportunities for value engineering, cost reductions and overall product and tooling quality improvements. The role articulates feasibility concerns and issues through PowerPoint presentations, works with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, and determines molding parameters such as shrinkage factors, tolerances, runner/gate design and heat profiles to optimize efficiency. The position deals with problems involving several variables in standardized situations, studies specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data and confers with engineering and shop personnel to resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures, and cost. Additionally, the Feasibility Engineer applies customer supplied data and standard tool engineering specifications to develop tool configuration and acts as design liaison for customers.
What you will need: Technical Associate’s Degree. Current experience in feasibility engineering. Strong experience in using 3D computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software.
