Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Transmission Calibration Engineer.
What you will do: The Transmission Calibration Engineer develops, tests and releases transmission calibrations for assigned applications using calibration guides and meeting best practices. The position develops calibration strategies for new Adaptive Shift Scheduling features, calibrates the shifting sequence control, clutch control and adaptation, transmission protection and ensure optimal gear selection at all times, and optimizes the driveability/fuel economy balance through Adaptive Shift Scheduling. The role releases transmission calibrations on-time, leading the calibration team, maintains appropriate calibration files utilizing ETAS/Inca calibration file systems, and serves as transmission calibration “owner” for assigned applications. Additionally, the Transmission Calibration Engineer maintains a transparent peer review process, maintains change logs/calibration comparison reports for all shift scheduling calibrations, and maintains an issues list for transmission system items involving torque control and clutch control.
What you will need: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Current experience in an engineering role within the tier one automotive industry. Transmission calibration/fuel economy balance experience. Strong knowledge in maintaining data and comparison reports relating to transmission calibrations. Working knowledge of ETAS/INCA. MATLAB/Simulink experience preferred.
