Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a national supplier of automotive interiors. Due to their recent growth, the company has recently opened a position for a Buyer.
What you will do: The Buyer is responsible for managing all aspects of supply chain and delivering the best level of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership). The role develops and executes commodity strategies for the assigned commodities, enhances purchasing expertise and knowledge of the local and global market trends, and pursues systematic TCO reductions and value enhancements for the assigned commodities. The position tracks KPI’s and deliver reports as assigned, executes comprehensive RFQ processes, and supports functional users in a timely manner while minimizing the risk and maximizing the value. Additionally, the Buyer develops strategic supply sources for the assigned commodities, manages relationships with all suppliers, resolves supplier issues and optimizes suppliers’ performance.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in supply chain/procurement. Significant expertise in procurement of Indirect Materials and Services. Solid knowledge of cost drivers and supply base for the assigned commodities. Significant expertise in legal contract negotiations and risk management. Experience in managing Packaging commodity. Ability to interpret blue prints and technical drawings. Experience with Plex ERP systems is a plus.
