Tier One Applications Engineer - Sealing

Wixom, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a world leader in the automotive tier one space. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Applications Engineer – Sealing.

What you will do: The Application Engineer works with the global sealing product development team on the development of new or modification of existing window and door seals for customer vehicle applications. The role determines customer engineering and test requirements, communicates customer requirements to internal teams, and leads global engineering teams to ensure customer requirements are met. The position works with OEM at the systems level on the synchronous design of sealing strip, participates in closure system analysis and verification, and develops/improves product drawings, while also reviewing designs and modifications with customers, product engineering, plants, etc. Additionally, the Applications Engineer – Sealing communicates with customers to resolve technical problems, coordinates with manufacturing engineering to optimize manufacturability of product, and improves and provides technical support of products in mass production.

What you will need: Bachelor’s in Engineering. Understanding of rubber sealing and weatherstrip technology. Experience in rubber sealing and/or glass encapsulation, preferably for a Tier 1 sealing supplier working directly with target OEMs. Experience with NX v.7 or above and/or CATIA v.5.
