Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier responsible for designing and manufacturing systems for gasoline and diesel engines for customers around the world. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Testing Engineer.

What you will do: The Testing Engineer is responsible for laboratory testing of light and heavy duty vehicle exhaust and emissions systems including diesel after treatment, the application of servo-hydraulics, pneumatics, ED shakers, burners, flow stands, and data acquisition tools in laboratory test environments, and for product validation according to DVP&R requirements. The position implements test procedures and gives approval for the start of testing, creates test report generation, and collects/processes laboratory data. Additionally, the role maintains test schedules, signs off on test quotes, requests, and invoices, and tracks and stores testing samples.

What you will need: Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Current experience in a test lab environment with structural testing. Test fixture design / build, sensor selection, and equipment setup requirements. Knowledge and application of durability / fatigue concepts including duty cycle development. Understanding of constant amplitude, block cycle, and PSD test inputs. Application of statics, dynamics, and boundary conditions in development of tests knowledge. Basic knowledge in mechanics of materials. Practical understanding of computer simulation tool outputs (FEA, CFD, Modal, etc). CMM or CAD experience a plus.
