Novi, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a three-billion dollar per year, global manufacturing company. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Technical Accounting Manager.
What you will do: The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements. This position is also responsible for compiling and preparing required filings, researching/providing guidance on a global basis related to the impact of new accounting pronouncements, and assisting with internal management reporting and/or other financial analysis. The role leads the preparation of required SEC filings, prepares consolidated financial statements, and renews pension/OPEB accounting and restructuring initiatives on a global basis, while also providing information requested by external auditors during quarterly reviews and year-end audits. Additionally, the Technical Accounting Manager ensures proper accounting and reporting of stock based compensation, partners with internal audit to maintain SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002) compliance, and assists in various financial analysis, month-end closing processes and other financial reporting.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA. Current experience in a manufacturing accountant role. Strong technical US GAAP abilities and experience in implementing new accounting pronouncements. Experience with financial statement preparation. Foreign currency exchange & translation experience is a plus. Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is preferred. Workiva (formerly WebFilings) experience is a plus.
