Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with an international supplier of raw materials and electronics to the manufacturing industry. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Functional Safety Engineer.
What you will do: The Functional Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring that high voltage battery systems comply with ISO-26262 and related standards for safety. The role owns/maintains battery system technical safety concept and related documentation, reviews/assesses customer requirements for relevant safety implications and feasibility, and owns/maintains safety-related fault analyses across electrical and electronics hardware and embedded software. The position works closely with internal and external engineering teams, suppliers, and customer to ensure coordinated safety compliance from specifications to design to production, while also leading system safety design reviews. Additionally, the Functional Safety Engineer maintains/enhances battery system design guides to capture lessons learned and continuous improvement and delivers the system safety plans and reports in a timely manner.
What you will need: BS in Engineering. Knowledge of product development life cycle related to electrical and software development. Detailed knowledge of ISO26262, ASIL and functional safety, safety certification preferred. Solid experience with a diverse range of microcontrollers, development tools and operating systems. Solid working knowledge of microprocessor based electronics and software.
