Tuscaloosa, Alabama – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Our client is a major Tier One for German automotive. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Plant Supply Chain Manager.

What you will do: The Plant Supply Chain Manager manages the overall activity of the Plant Supply Chain Department to ensure that all three functions in SCM (supply chain management), materials, logistics, and purchasing; essnetially, the role is responsible for the entire plant supply chain including distribution, while reporting to plant manager. The position analyzes/improves plant manufacturing control systems, assists division/corporate in establishing supplier cost reduction expectations, and manages all shipping and receiving, warehousing, logistics/traffic, material handling, packaging and returnable dunnage for the facility. The role provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements, manages engineering changes that will include minimizing or elimination of obsolescence, and the effective implementation of new product launches including all SAP system requirements, and is responsible for freight/logistics.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain management preferred). Advanced supply chain management experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. Intricate knowledge of material flow, material handling, warehousing, inventory control, purchasing, vendor releasing, JIT, capacity planning, logistics, packaging, shipping and receiving, and all materials management disciplines. Knowledge of automotive/mechanical systems. Strong experience in SAP. APICS certification preferred. MMOG (Materials Management Operations Guidelines) experience preferred.
