Supplier Quality Engineer - Tooling

Plymouth, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international, tier-one automotive supplier. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a Supplier Quality Process Engineer – Tooling.

What you will do: The Supplier Quality Process Engineer – Tooling is responsible for initiating and dealing with quality-relevant issues for purchase parts in series manufacture, including conducting and coordinating the necessary complaints management. The role processes the purchase parts complaints in accordance with stipulated directives, initiates/organizes the necessary reworking and sorting checks in consultation with the superior/external entities and the suppliers, and blocks faulty goods, identifying causation and commissioning internal and external entities to remedy faults. The position sends a complaint notice informing of the quality deviation at the supplier, records the costs incurred with the complaint and forwarding to Controlling, and evaluates position statements of the suppliers using the 8D method, examining the 8D reports of the suppliers and monitoring the stipulated measures. Additionally, the Supplier Quality Process Engineer initiates/sustains preventive measures at suppliers, conducts assembly trials taking into account the manual/automated manufacturing stages or processes, and calibrates test and measuring devices in accordance with test regulations.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. Current experience in the automotive, tier-one manufacturing industry. Experience as a tooling or process engineer.  Experience quality management, FMEA, and production engineering. Ability to travel up to 25% to suppliers.
