Supplier Quality Engineer – Manufacturing

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a growing manufacturing company with several facilities throughout the United States. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for a Supplier Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for developing plans, directing, monitoring, and driving continuous improvement or corrective action activities related to product and process development at high risk or key suppliers. The role attends meetings or on-site reviews with suppliers in support of product and process development systems and customer requirements, builds a working relationship of integrity and trust with the supplier along with clear lines of communication to plants, engineering, and purchasing functions, and keeps organized and updated open issues lists of non-resolved or potential problems. The position leads supplier development, monitors root cause analysis of product or process failures, and evaluates/approves gauge designs and dimensional schemes for product and process control. Additionally, the Supplier Quality Engineer writes clear and detailed reports for management review, performs on-site quality system and supplier audits in support of purchasing selecting new suppliers, and reviews, evaluates, and identifies process variation or poor manufacturing concepts and/or execution for corrective action through supplier on-site visits.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in manufacturing engineering. Experience in quality with a supply base interface. Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
