Supplier Quality Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a leading supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Supplier Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Supplier Quality Engineer reviews incoming supplier production part approval process (PPAP) submissions for completeness and accuracy, while disposing those PPAPs in all areas except dimensional noncompliance in conjunction with team members. The role internally supports the “Big 3” car company teams with supplier issues. More specifically, this position supports all North American supplier production facilities as first point of contact for quality issues, while also improving not only supplier performance but also channels of communication between the North American company sites, manufacturing sites and suppliers with regard to problem-solving and resolution. The Supplier Quality Engineer visits suppliers and then generates trip reports, to communicate all necessary follow-up actions needed, while additionally managing supplier corrective action responses and conduct follow-up verification.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in automotive industry. Knowledge of motors or seats. 30%-50% travel.
