Supplier Quality Engineer

New Boston, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a leading supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Supplier Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Supplier Quality Engineer monitors supplier performance, identifies poor performing suppliers and coordinates necessary containment and corrective active measures. The role provides escalation support to locations related to supplier poor performance/responsiveness, verifies corrective actions at supplier locations for designated top problem suppliers, and confirms the robustness of assembly process for known rejections related to supplier pass-through characteristics. The position assists with coordination of annual requalification schedule, performs assigned audits at supplier locations, and conducts technical audits at new supplier locations to validate a supplier’s technical capability and quality system prior to sourcing. Additionally, the Supplier Quality Engineer monitors plant recovery of supplier failure costs, visits supplier plants (scheduled &/or unscheduled) to conduct process audits, discuss supplier performance, etc., and improves communication between suppliers and company.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in supplier quality engineering within automotive manufacturing. PPAP, FMEA, and quality auditing experience. Ability to travel up to 40%.
