Supplier Development Manager – Forgings

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading tier one automotive supplier.  Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for a Supplier Development Manager.  

What you will do: The Supplier Development Manager ensures supply base is capable of meeting the expectations of the organization including technical specifications, cost, quality and delivery requirements. The role provides supplier selection support to the procurement cross-functional team, conducts audits (Risk Assessment, Part and Process Audits (PAPA), PSO, etc), develops improvement plans with supplier to address audit findings, and provides regional based support. The position identifies improvement plans considering top chronic candidates for supplier performance improvement, develops/retains suppliers that meet stringent quality standards, and supports supplier training which can result in upgrade of their process and systems as per the identified gaps. Additionally, the Supplier Development Manager achieves AOP committed savings targets by supporting all the DMO’s in the region, ensures programs are launched on-time with no quality issues, and coordinates establishment of cross-functional teams and project plans to ensure timely implementation.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in supplier development within tier-one automotive supply. Experience with foundry and forgings. TS 16494/ISO 9000 auditing and AIAG PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, and APQPexperience. ASQ CQA or Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred. Program launch experienced preferred.
