Supplier Development Manager

Pontiac, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   is working with a national automotive, tier-one supplier. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Supplier Development Manager.

What you will do: The Supplier Development Manager is the main point of contact for supplier relations within the company. The role works with the supplier for advanced development, continuous improvement and issue resolution, focuses on injection mold plastics, leather, textiles, and other commodities that are provided for interior trim components, and works extensively with the purchasing, quality, and manufacturing departments. The position assists in strategic supplier development activities with suppliers, monitors the application of tactical development activities across commodities, and supports continuous improvement within the overall supply base and with any single supplier or commodity. Additionally, the Supplier Development Manager reviews/audits supplier’s manufacturing processes and quality systems and works with underperforming suppliers to show improvements through action plans and quality based improvement initiatives.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in supplier development within automotive manufacturing. Understanding of TS/ISO Quality System standards. Knowledge of AIAG standards including APQP and PPAP requirements including FMEA, Control Plans, Flow Charts, R@R, SPC, MSA, Capacity Analysis, GR&R. Ability to travel up to 50%. Familiarity with Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving.
