Joliet, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a leading Tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Supplier Development Manager.

What you will do: The Supplier Development Manager develops, coordinates and leads supplier development and qualification assuring long term supply at world class performance levels with quality, delivery, cost and service. The role assists in new supplier development and manages existing supplier maintenance and continuous improvement activities, while also leading supplier development programs for critical suppliers and managing supplier metrics while working with commodity managers to achieve a supply base compliant with ISO/TS16949. The position assures customer quality requirements, supports purchasing and development teams in supplier cost reduction, maintains performance reports, and identifies supply chain risks, establishing gap plans. Additionally, the Supplier Development Manager conducts new and existing vendor audits, assists in defective part analysis, and ensures supplier development plans are properly created and executed.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Current experience in the automotive industry and supplier development or quality engineering. Black Belt or CQE certification preferred. Ability to travel 20-30%. Knowledge of TPS, APQP, TS16969, DFMEA, PFMEA, Six Sigma, TPS, APQP, ISIR/PPAP/PSR, SPC, 8D, Control plans, and Lean manufacturing principles. APQP and automotive launch experience. APICS and ASQ affiliation and certification preferred.
