Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have recently opened a position for a Supplier Preparation Development Engineer.
What you will do: The Supplier Preparation Development Engineer leads supplier production preparation activity to track supplier production preparation, coordinates progress of supplier and relating department such as quality, engineering, and production control, and coordinates with quality and engineering to execute the elements of advance quality planning. The role visits suppliers before, during, and after launch to confirm manufacturing processes, monitors and tracks supplier performance, and helps suppliers on issues such as production problems and coordinate with design to accommodate production. Additionally, the Supplier Preparation Development Engineer gives suggestions on sourcing decisions from the point of view in supplier performance.
What you will need: BS in Engineering. Quality engineering experience. Experience working within suppliers’ plants. Experience within automotive manufacturing environment with Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC. Previous experience with Japanese suppliers. Ability to travel between 25-50% of the time.
