Structural Engineer

Norfolk, Virginia – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a international conglomerate supplier of manufactured products. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Structural Engineer.

What you will do: The Structural Engineer researches, designs, and analyzes welded structural components and steel castings. The role reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, project specifications, field reports, test data, and FE analysis, specifies type and size of raw materials, and assists drafters in developing the structural design of products using drafting tools, CAD software, and drafting equipment. The position develops Finite Element (FE) models and performs calculations to analyze and determine structural integrity, system loads, and fatigue life and works independently and as a team member with other engineers, designers, and production personnel or on ad hoc projects.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in structural design engineering. Experience with drafting and design. Knowledge of technical fundamentals of structural engineering, FE analysis, and material properties. Knowledge of Pro-E, drafting tools, CAD or drafting equipment. Ability to travel up to 30%.
