Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading tier one automotive supplier. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for a Sr. Product Engineer.
What you will do: The Sr. Product Engineer is responsible for developing a portfolio of electric drive axles and mechatronic geared systems. The role manages all technical aspects of Advanced Engineering new product development programs from concept to production launch, while also ensuring all technical requirements are met within program schedules on new product development programs. The position collaborates with engineering and product strategy teams on e-axle architectures and geared mechatronic system concepts, provides direction to Designers and other support functions to create solid models and drawings, performs installation studies/stack-ups/accuracy checks, and completes Design Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (DMFEA). Additionally, the Sr. Product Engineer creates/executes Design Validation Plans (DVP) and provides plant support.
What you will need: Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering. Current experience in product engineering within automotive manufacturing. Experience leading the development of a complex mechanical system, preferably axles or transmissions. Good understanding of hybrid and battery electric systems in commercial vehicles preferred. Proficiency in Creo 2.0 and Windchill 10.1. Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) tools preferred.
