Sr. IT Buyer - Healthcare

Detroit, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with an industry leading healthcare services provider. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an IT Buyer.

What you will do: The IT Buyer sources products and services, and negotiate with vendors, for the purchase of all IT hardware, software and licenses, IT services, and IT supplies, including maintenance renewal tracking, sourcing alternatives as requested, and negotiating pricing. The position requests quotes, examine and analyze bids, and make recommendations, evaluates relevant IT commodities for improvement recommendations and develops new competitive supply sources per analysis of current vendor deliverables and contracts, additionally establishing account/credit and payment terms with vendor partners. The role creates/places purchase orders (PO’s) ensuring requisitions include appropriate approval and account numbers, makes recommendations for blanket purchase orders when appropriate, and follows through the entire purchasing cycle including ensuring on time and complete delivery of products and services. Also, the appointment works closely with receiving department to ensure proper products arrived and damaged goods are returned and works closely with vendors, and accounts payable, to resolve invoice discrepancies and provide solutions.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in a business related area. Mid-range purchasing experience with current Information Technology procurement including hardware, software, licensing, telecommunications, and maintenance agreements. Experience negotiating all procurement parameters, and vendor contracts. Purchasing including sourcing, negotiating, analyzing, forecasting, and planning experience. Negotiating costs for products and services and contract negotiating of deliverables, and payment terms, including a clear understanding of contract language. Familiar with purchasing software.
