Sourcing Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to a myriad of industries. We have been tasked to identify a Sourcing Engineer for a newly created role.

What you will do: The Sourcing Engineer partners with design teams throughout product development process to manage BOM cost through Product Launch, identifies, sources, and contracts new product suppliers, and conducts should-cost and make vs. buy analyses to support sourcing decision. The role negotiates terms as required and in accordance with internal policies, negotiates legal terms under the guidance of the internal legal support team, and improves new product sourcing processes to increase efficiencies by partnering with technical design teams. Additionally, the Sourcing Engineer applies appropriate category strategies (Metals, Plastics, Electronics, and Outsourcing etc.) to new product sourcing needs and monitors sourcing and procurement innovation trends in the marketplace.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Experience in the sourcing and procurement function focused on direct spend. Experience in EMS, connector or related industry. Experience in new product development sourcing. Experience reading and interpreting blueprint specifications and drawings.
