Sumter, South Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with an international manufacturer with a million square foot facility. Due to the current growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Chemist – Solid Materials.
What you will do: The Chemist – Solid Materials works with the materials department learning the practices and manufacturing procedure associated with the materials group. The role creates/translates corporate specifications to plant capabilities and equipment, develops computer skills required for specification creation and data collection, and performs evaluations of materials and compounds. This role will audit plant conformance to technical specifications and standards. Additionally, the Chemist – Solid Materials prepares samples for R&D development requests, and communicates daily with quality assurance on compound disposition and compound excellence, and becomes familiar with the economics of manufacturing, assisting in the control of green and cured waste.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Current experience in a manufacturing environment. Solid Materials Chemistry experience, NOT pharmaceutical OR oil/gas. Experience with specifications, evaluation of materials, and troubleshooting of manufacturing issues.
