Software Systems Engineer

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Systems Engineer.

What you will do: The Systems Engineer is responsible for analysis, development and implementation/support of manufacturing shop floor information solutions. The role analyzes business requirements through user interaction, supports current functional code, participates in corrective actions, problem resolution, continuous improvement and quality assurance efforts, and provides system analysis and design consulting services for global projects. The position maintains regular schedule of oral/written correspondence with team members and customers, ensures proper standards and procedures are followed, designs/adapts the system to changing business processes and needs, and develops/maintains MES1 software and user documentation. Additionally, the Systems Engineer performs regular database maintenance and optimization, oversees recurrent data integrity, validation and regression testing activities, and resolves all performance problems and technical support issues via collaborative system troubleshooting.

What you will need: BS Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.  Microsoft VB.NET, ASP.NET, 3rd party web controls (Ex: Ajax) and high-level language programming experience. Experience in a manufacturing plant environment. Database concepts, SQL programming and data design/development experience. Experience in software application development. Experience with networking and communications is desired. ASP.Net/VB.Net programming experience. Strong understanding and working knowledge of MS SQL. Knowledge of ERP, MES, SCADA, Historian, and other industrial software. Knowledge of automotive standards specifications.
