Software Integration Engineer

Novi, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Software Integration Engineer.

What you will do: The Software Integration Engineer is responsible for designing and improving new and existing software for automotive embedded controls. The role is responsible for complex components, sub-assemblies and systems, coordinates the complete development for the designated products including, but not limited to Embedded software design, documentation, developing C –code and assembler, in accordance with standard operating procedures and the product delivery process, and writes software based on requirements. The position incorporates customer requirements, regulations and product specifications into the design of the designated products, ensuring compliance with software development process, operational, cost, timing, safety, reliability, quality, and manufacturing feasibility parameters, while also conducting code reviews and designing automatic test vectors. Additionally, the Software Integration Engineer supports CAE activities (hand calculations/first order analysis),works with senior engineering personnel to support and drive best practices in design specifications, manufacturing processes, customer requirements, and safety requirements, and creates, reviews and approves engineering direction and is responsible for product testing to ensure key deliverables are met (i.e. functional requirements, cost targets, timing, safety, reliability, quality, and manufacturing feasibility parameters).

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering. Mid-range experience in engineering. Current experience in software engineering. Working knowledge of electrical hardware and electrical circuit theory as it relates to embedded controls for electro-mechanical systems. Knowledge of Vehicle Bus Communication software such as CAN, LAN, LIN. Understanding of the Vehicle and Component Level Diagnostics protocols. Expert level C, Assembly language, Labview, Lab windows or other software design/test tools. Understanding of standard software process and industry requirements IEEE, CMMI, MISRA.
