Software Engineer - Tier One

Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Software Engineer.

What you will do: The Lead Software Engineer leads the activities of a small group of Software Engineers responsible for the design and development of new products, improvement of existing products and technical communications with customers. The role participates in the interviewing and hiring of staff to support program team and supervises the professional development of assigned staff, including: monitoring performance, participating and/or administering performance appraisals, development of personnel for continuous improvement and/or advancement, coaching and counseling as required under the guidance of the manager. The position initiates/evaluates the design of new products and the improvement of existing products, controlling the expenditure of engineering time and funds, supervises engineering change notices in the area of responsibility to ensure the cost effectiveness, quality and reliability of products designed, and is responsible for customer satisfaction related to program issues. Additionally, the Lead Software Engineer initiates investigation of product problems indicated by the customer, engineers, manufacturing, and sales and approves appropriate engineering change notices.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Current experience in software. Experience with C++. Strong knowledge of database management systems. Experience with Java software is a plus.
