Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a global Tier 1 automotive supplier whose products are in 25% of of all vehicles on the road. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for an Algorithm Engineer.
What you will do: The Algorithm Engineer – Restraint Systems works within a global team of controls, software, and tools specialists to produce algorithm/calibration software releases. The role develops algorithm calibrations for specific vehicle platforms, by exercising performance algorithms with Software-in-the-Loop development tools, produces algorithm/calibration performance summary reports, and analyzes system behaviors. The position troubleshoots performance issues, reports findings and proposes resolutions to senior engineers, while also integrating calibrations into application software and control module hardware to support verification testing. Additionally, the Algorithm Engineer – Restraint Systems executes hardware-in-the-Loop verification and validation using Matlab, Simulink, StateFlow and dSpace-based tool chain, supports algorithm and calibration peer reviews, and presents, discusses and negotiates with customers the sensing performance of the calibrated algorithms, obtaining authorization for release to pre-production and production vehicle builds.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience in restraints or active safety systems development. Experience or university coursework in systems, dynamics, and controls. Understanding of embedded-controller digital signal processing, sampling, filtering techniques. Knowledge of passive and active safety sensing technologies, and methodologies for managing signal uncertainties and errors.Hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink, C/C++, and Perl/Python programming languages. Familiarity with model-based development processes. Experience with PTC Integrity, DOORs or equivalent tools. Ability to travel internationally.
