Sensors Research Engineer

Richmond, Virginia – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international applied research manufacturer. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for an Sensor Research Engineer.

What you will do: The Sensor Research Engineer provides technical leadership in the implementation of sensor systems for real-time monitoring of manufacturing processes. The role supports feedback controlled manufacturing and integrated manufacturing/metrology processes and improved non-destructive evaluation processes to support advanced manufacturing capabilities. The position discovers technology breakthroughs and developments that can influence global manufacturing, performs in a dynamic, collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, and works with research managers and customers to develop, define, and execute research programs. Additionally, the Sensor Research Engineer provides training to technicians, interns, and visiting researchers from industrial and academic partners.

What you will need: Advanced Engineering degree. Experience working with manufacturing process design, analysis, and improvement. Experience in full-scale integrated sensor systems. Expertise with of a variety of non-destructive evaluation processes. Industrial experience in an NDE research laboratory. Broad-based practical knowledge in diverse fields such as infrared imaging, acoustics, laser metrology, ultrasonics, and radiography. Application experience in the design and implementation of process sensor systems. Practical knowledge of high temperature alloys, carbon and stainless steels, titanium and aluminum alloys, and high temperature composites
