Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a national supplier of automotive tier one manufactured goods. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Quality Engineer.
What you will do: The Quality Engineer ensures the quality of the parts produced meet all customer expectations, maintains the most recent interpretations of the quality system requirements and ensures that documented practices meet the true interpretation of the quality management system standards. The role collaborates with Ford quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design, makes recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production, and provides engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. The position resolves quality issues of capability, tolerance, and materials related issues, develops/submits PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements, and determines when process stability and capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Additionally, the Quality Engineer recommends changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness, coordinates pre-launch production trial run process monitoring, and maintains Control Plans and PFMEA’s throughout the life of the part.
What you will need: Bachelor degree in Engineering. Current experience in automotive quality engineering. Stamping experience. Background in GD&T. Quality certification.
