Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a three-billion dollar per year, global manufacturing company.  Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Senior Process Engineer.

What you will do: The Lead Advanced Process Engineer designs, procures, maintains and troubleshoots equipment and tooling. The position sets standards for manufacturing excellence and develops new process and technologies, requiring travel to plant locations, predominantly in North America but also globally. The role conceptualizes and designs in 3D CAD, tooling used in the manufacture of automotive seals including pre-form rolls, dies, support rolls, cooling fixtures, product guides, post-form rolls, cut guides and checking fixtures, while also using CFD in the design and optimizing polymer flow in dies. Further responsibilities of the Lead Advanced Process Engineer include leading tuning development trials, implementing tooling changes in CAD to produce product to print, analyzing/documenting tooling development trials, and investigating root cause issues and implements corrective actions.

What you will need: Current experience in hands on project engineering. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Work requires extensive specialized training with the equipment and tooling utilized to produce the products including but not limited to rubber extruders, plastic extruders, hot air curing ovens, plastic vacuum cooling tanks, pre-form/post-form rolls. Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process statistics, and basic quality systems. Current experience in the Tier One automotive industry. Foundation in 3D CAD design. Ability to travel 25%.
