Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to the automotive industry.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created Senior Mold Process Engineer – Tooling position open.

What you will do:  The Senior Mold Process Engineer works independently with a variety of departments and functional areas to successfully introduce new injection and insert mold tooling into the manufacturing plant, which meets or exceeds the cost, quality and timing associated with the program or project. The role estimates project cost for new molds or revisions to existing molds, provides estimates on lead times, design hours, build hours, debug hours and material requirements, and leads team efforts with product engineers and personnel at manufacturing plants to create mold design specifications for new molds. The position procures design and build of injection molds or mold components on time and within budget, conducts mold design and construction review meetings with product engineers, manufacturing engineers, mold makers, mold designers and build suppliers, and partcipates in product design reviews and mold process FMEA (failure modes and effects analysis) meetings. Additionally, the Senior Mold Process Engineer – Tooling establishes baseline mold process and optimize to meet or exceed program goals, is responsible for the debug and qualification of injection molds and processes, and provides direction and input to resolve mold design, construction and processing issues as they arise during the mold development process.

What you will need: Technical School completion (Tool & Die or equivalent apprenticeship). Engineering Graphics, CAD, or Drafting courses completed. Mid-range experience in hands-on plastics injection molding processing. Knowledge of key mold fabrication processes (grinding, EDM, polishing & assembly).
