Syracuse, New York – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading manufacturer of capital equipment for both industrial and consumer use. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a new position for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Senior Electronics Design Engineer designs, develops, and manufacturers control solutions for the HVAC, refrigeration, and related markets globally. The role supports the design and development of electronic circuit board assembly controls for embedded HVAC and refrigeration products, creates documentation including technical requirements, functional specifications, qualification test plans and product change notices, and performs as project lead directing a 2 to 3 person team of EEs on design and support efforts. The position coordinates design discussions with mechanical engineering, generates schematics, and supports PCB layout designers, while also supporting current production designs including quality improvements, cost reduction, component obsolescence and failure analysis. Additionally, the Senior Electronics Design Engineer evaluates/approves electronic components that requirements for availability, performance and cost, creates components drawings, evaluates failures to determine root cause and corrective actions, and participates with product teams on design development activities.
What you will need: BSEE. Knowledge of DOE, FMEA, tolerance analysis, simulation, statistical methods and DFM to improve robustness and quality of electronic design. Strong functional knowledge of electronic components and circuits including microprocessors, microcontrollers, op-amps, regulators, standard digital logic ICs, and discrete semiconductors (diodes, transistors, FETS, triacs). Knowledge of schematic capture, PCB layout, simulation. Cadence ver 16.6 knowledge & C programming skills is a plus. Knowledge of FMEA’s, electrical stress analysis calculations, EMI and EMC PCB layout techniques. Familiarity with electronic assembly/manufacturing processes and soldering of components. Knowledge of design and analysis tools such as VHDL, Minitab, MatLab, and PSpice. Familiar with root cause/troubleshooting techniques for electronic assemblies. Familiarity with Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning systems highly desirable.
