Senior Electrical Engineer – Automation/Controls

Rochester Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a manufacturing company focused on controls, software, mechanical, and processing engineering. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Senior Electrical Engineer.

What you will do: The Senior Electrical Engineer leads a project team of electrical hardware engineers and designers, determines project scope based on customer requirements, and provides Senior Engineering level support internally and at customer’s facilities. The role analyzes reports of technical problems to determine trends affecting future design, production, service, and maintenance processes, leads in development and validation of new/improvements of current products, and provides technical clarification and discussion with customers/vendors/suppliers. The position assists in preparation and deliveries of sales presentations, determines requirements and costs for potential projects, and attendsand/or conducts design reviews. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer follows designs through to equipment fabrication, software code testing, and on-site startup/debug, communicates with project team, customers, and suppliers, and supports shop and field technicians to ensure that equipment is installed correctly.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Experience in manufacturing/engineering environment. Experience in the electrical design of robotic automated system. Expertise in robotic application equipment and processes. AutoCAD proficiency. Strong understanding of Chrysler, Ford, and GM standards and specifications. Experience with different fieldbus architectures such as DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus. Expertise in hardware design involving control components. Experience with industrial control systems, specifically Paint/Sealer and Automation applications. Experience with engineering retrofit systems. Extensive design of automation systems using FANUC robots.
