Novi, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a world leading supplier of innovative parts and systems to the global automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Senior Designer.
What you will do: The Senior Designer is responsible for effectively utilizing NX CAD technology to develop and complete designed parts. The role initiates and evaluates the design of new products and the improvement of existing products, prepares mathematical computations and dimensional/tolerance studies in accordance with engineering/customer requirements, and revises existing part data per engineering direction. The position calculates stack-up of detail components, assists engineering by generating temporary studies/concept sketches, and observes group and customer data standards for file construction and storage. Additionally, the Senior Designer maintains affiliations with, and represents the company in appropriate professional, technical and educational groups and designs consideration for cost saving initiatives.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Knowledge of solid modeling – NX 8.5. Mid-range experience in design engineering. Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. CAD System training. Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis experience. Industry experience in product design & analysis (Automotive Trim or Sealing systems.) Specialty in Sealing Systems and Exterior trim applications preferred.
