Senior Designer

Fort Mill, South Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with leading capital equipment manufacturing company that is going through an expansion. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Senior Designer.

What you will do: The Senior Designer’s primary duties are to design projects and engineer products. The role assists in component selection, adheres to project specifications, and assists the project manager in preparation of approval packages. The position works with shop fabrication, machining and assembly of the equipment. Additionally, the Senior Designer assists in interface on technical issues with manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. . Current experience in a design engineering role. Mid-range experience with the design of steel equipment both welded and assembled. Experience with bulk material handling equipment. Experience with SDS (Safety Data Sheet) software. Experience with 3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor or equivalent. Working knowledge of fabrication processes.  Working knowledge of bulk material handling equipment. Capability to perform calculations and basic FEA or CFD. Experience with the design of rotating equipment including shafts, motor/gearboxes, and bearings. Experience with SDS/2, Tekla, or equivalent structural design and detailing software preferred. Knowledge of electrical power, instrumentation and controls.
