Seating/Stamping Tooling Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a leading tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Tooling Engineer.

What you will do: The Tooling Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier tooling is built to standards in a cost-effective manner and in compliance with established timelines. The role maintains, audits, and oversees all current and new tooling, visits suppliers on a routine basis to ensure compliance, and works in conjunction with commodity, team buyers, and the supplier quality engineers to reduce ppms and ensure proper maintenance and construction of tooling. The position calculates tool cost targets and assists in reviewing quotes associated with tool building and modification, while also protecting the company’s assets during tool moves from one supplier to another. Additionally, the Tooling Engineer initiates activities to create HIPPA privacy awareness within the organization and implement privacy policies and procedures.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in tooling. Current experience in tier one automotive manufacturing. Experience with stampings and dies.
