Los Angeles, California – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a company that combines the research and development, design, and manufacturing assets from the industrial system and power electronic businesses. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Sales Applications Engineer – Utility.
What you will do: The Sales Applications Engineer – Utility prepares commercial proposals and technical specifications to meet clients’ Request for Quote (RFQ) requirements, while also defining solutions that include hardware and software requirements for a project, in collaboration with customers and original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s). The position prepares detailed cost elements for the technical specification, develops pricing strategies to maximize project margins, and designs competitive and viable technical approaches to resolve customer issues. The role provides product and system feedback and service opportunities for improvement to appropriate management, prepares specifications for required components, evaluates supplier proposals, and determines the best technical and most economical solution for the application. Additionally, the Sales Application Engineer – Utility delivers presentations at technical conferences and meetings with clients, reviews brochures for technical accuracy, monitors industry trends to recommend new product and service features, and collaborates with peers and interact cross-organizationally.
What you will need: Bachelor of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering. Current experience in sales applications within a manufacturing company. Experience working in utilities. Systems or application engineering experience in the PV (photovoltaic) industry or related industry power systems. Availability to travel domestically, approximately 30%, and internationally, occasionally, with limited notice. Demonstrated success in client facing, sales or marketing related assignments.
