Robotics Lead Mechanical Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a leading supplier of industrial robots, modular manufacturing systems and service. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Lead Mechanical Engineer.

What you will do: The Lead Mechanical Engineer effectively translates project inputs into deliverable documented requirements, while also planning and leading projects and design activities. The role oversees the completion and effective use of system/cell layouts, project job books, project open issues lists, master bills of material/procurement plans for purchasing, equipment functional specifications, sequences of operations/time cycle diagrams, detailed and specific requests for quotes, project quality documentation (PFMEA, FMEA, etc.), mechanical to controls line-ups, internal concepts/design reviews. Additionally, the position manages equipment buy-offs at vendor facilities for external sourced equipment, supports the manufacturing equipment, and participates in equipment run-off.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Advanced experience in the Power Train Assembly field. Track record in Engine and Axle Assembly (Hard Automation, Robotics, Transport Systems, Manual Stations, Ergonomics, Simulations, Processing, etc.) as a lead project / process engineer. Engine Assembly experience with new systems and retools. Experience with AutoCAD 2011, SolidWorks, 3D CAD package and SAP.
