Southfield, Michigan Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a national supplier of tier-one automotive products. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Commodity Manager – Resins.

What you will do: The Commodity Manager – Resins is the lead for resins commodity for all product families and internal plants. The position conducts price negotiations for new and existing resin including internal and external spend through outsource suppliers to meet annual savings targets, prepares analysis and recommendation for supplier selection with BCC (Best Cost Country) focus, and leads market test activities, executing market test decisions on a timely manner to achieve spend reduction targets. The role executes overall resin strategy that creates the best value in cooperation with the product managers and internal plants, prepares monthly reports to track and show sourcing/commodity strategy and progress, and presents/publishes resin markets and competitors to the global organization. Additionally, the Commodity Manager – Resins maintains company raw material database in support of inflation & deflation movements, interfaces with internal customers on critical supplier issues as an escalation level and effectively interact with other employees and/or departments for timely resolution, and supports detection, early warning and analysis of distressed and/or high risk suppliers.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or Purchasing. Experience in tier-one automotive manufacturing. Technical resin knowledge and supplier processes in automotive industry with focus on under the hood applications. Prior experience with global sourcing processes/decision making as well as experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior management, suppliers and internal customers.
