Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with a world-class manufacturer of instruments for vehicles, agricultural, and construction equipment. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Research and Development Engineer.

What you will do: The Research and Development Engineer develops prototypes and demos of graphic systems for automotive gauge clusters with knowledge of software such as embedded Linux and Graphics. The role gathers system requirements from customers (specifically Graphics, Networks and Security) and creates system architecture for each project, while also testing and debugging applications and identifying/resolving defects. The position investigates improvements in the design or engineering capability of existing products, conducts logical analyses of engineering, and other technical problems with existing products, and conducts tests to ensure that design solutions are fit for purpose and that they can be manufactured. Additionally, the Research and Development Engineer consults with engineers, management, and customers to determine needs and design requirements, prepares management reports defining and evaluating problems and recommending solutions, and prepares demonstrations of new technology in cluster space for OEMs to consider for upcoming programs.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering or computer engineering. Current experience in research and development. Current experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. Experience working in embedded automotive/embedded software development or equivalent experience. In-depth knowledge of Graphics SoC, HMI tools and embedded OS. Ability to develop demo system including Graphics and Microcontrollers.
