Rack Drive Ball Screw Engineering Manager

Washington, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for an Engineering Manager – Rack Drive Ball Screw.

What you will do: The Engineering Manager – Rack Drive Ball Screw provides technical and project leadership for development projects for EPS Rack and ballnut products. The role establishes/manages timelines and resource needs to achieve project objectives, leads a team of Product Engineers based in Washington and Dusseldorf who are responsible for design and development of rack and ballnut assemblies and components for EPS Belt Drive products, and ensures designs are compliant with company standards. The position defines assembly and component requirements based on system and customer requirements, ensures that all designs are properly validated, and oversees necessary engineering calculations, FEA and other engineering analysis to ensure designs are proper for application, while also being responsible for staffing and developmental growth of employees. Additionally, the Engineering Manager – Rack Drive Ball Screw develops yearly objectives for employees, manages workload within the Rack Drive RBNA team to ensure project quality, and provides key interface communications to both platform/product teams and applications engineering.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in engineering management within automotive manufacturing. Strong experience in design of complex mechanical devices. Previous experience managing a team of engineers in design and development activities. Familiarity with TS16949 requirements. Experience in the design of ballscrew systems and bearings.
